The Road Engineering Association of Asia and Australasia (REAAA) started on 15 June 1973 at the Conference on Road Engineering in Asia and Australasia held in Kuala Lumpur, some 300 delegates from 19 countries resolved to form the Association with a permanent secretariat in Malaysia.
The REAAA now has about 1,300 members in 26 countries and holds regular events including a triennial international conference, technical visits and study tours, trade displays, seminars, forums and workshops.
There are also local chapters in Australia, Brunei, Korea and the Phillippines
The objectives of the association are:

To promote and advance the science and practice of road engineering and related professions.

To educate and seek to improve, extend and elevate the technical and general knowledge of persons concerned with road engineering.
